Lucas invited Emilia Ann over to play.  She is a friend from daycare.

Here they test the weight-bearing capacity of Lucas' stepstool. We wonder if Lucas will always enjoy dating taller women.

Emilia Ann chases a ball in the backyard...

... while Lucas finds a way to relax.

Abbie didn't want to be left out, either.

I think this is a three alarm fire at the fire station.

Emilia Ann drives the RC car, while Lucas wills the timer to go off so that he can have his turn.

Lucas shows his new reading books to Emilia Ann.

Peek-a-boo!

Both Lucas and Emilia Ann enjoyed playing with the dollhouse.

Another day, another ball game in the backyard.

Lucas usually throws left handed and kicks with his right foot.

Abbie enjoys wearing her happy meal box.

Judging by the way that Abbie was orbiting the playground, I think she had a negative charge.

Lucas hangs from the slide that goes "straight down."

Mom helps Abbie get ready to go down the steep slide.

No problem.

Abbie gets one last "monkey jump" in the crib before taking it apart to send to baby Lana Varsanyi.

Lucas had a whale of a good time flying the airplane at Zachary park.

Abbie seems to be a natural behind the wheel.

We tried to help her climb this rock wall, but each time she protested "MY-SEF!".

Another day, another park...

The blue tape on Abbie's forehead indicates that we paid for her at the grocery store.

Lucas and Dad transition from plane to bike at Osceola, Wisconsin, airport on a "Daddy-Lucas day."

We rode by the Osceola train station to look at the trains and were surprised to find them warming up for a weekday charter run for some schools. They were also selling tickets, and Lucas was very eager to go for a train ride...

Lucas watches as they position the engine to couple onto the passenger cars.

Lucas plays with his toy train on the windowsill of the passenger car.

The conductor punches our tickets while a brakeman looks on.

"Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease open the cookies, Daddy."

This was the first time that Lucas wore a headset in the airplane, and he loved it, primarily because he could hear his own voice amplified inside the headsets.  On the ride to Osceola, Lucas chattered, hummed, sang, and made any noise he could think of during the whole ride.

However, on the ride home, Lucas fell asleep shortly after takeoff and didn't wake up until Chuck started to push the airplane back into the hangar.  That either says something about Chuck's smooth landings, or how tired Lucas was at that time.

The kids stuff their faces at a party the Swenson's: (L-R) Ben S., Andy S., Ashley P., Lucas, Abbie, with Linda and Nicholas P. on the couch.

The kids veg out at the TV after dinner. Lucas helps Abbie after her chair tips over.

Lucas prepares to tape the tail on the donkey at Natasha's birthday party.

Good job!

Abbie didn't want anything to do with the blindfold, but really wanted to put a tail up on the donkey like the big kids.

Abbie digs into a doughnut on a morning when Dad took the kids to Krispy Kreme for breakfast to give Mom some quiet time at home.

"Sprinkles" are always the doughnut of choice for the kids.

"I grubby Daddy!"

"Cheeeeeese!"

Two loyal customers prepare to depart.
