March - April 2004

Lucas keeps the production line moving at the Children's Museum in St. Paul. This was his first trip to the museum.
Kid-powered conveyor belts move the blocks from one level of the "factory" to another.

Lucas opens the sluice gate at the boat race station.

A pint-sized grocery store lets the kids practice their shopping skills.

Check-out time!

Now it's time for a meal with the provisions Lucas picked out.

Lucas joins an ant colony at the museum, complete with friendly worker ants in the tunnels.

Lucas slows down for a brief moment.

More water fun, this time with (plastic) lizards in a "creek."

Dad and Lucas flew to Osceola to check out the historic train station about a mile from the airport.

Mom gets her snuggle time x2.

We're not sure why Abbie needed to wear her coat to stuff her face with cupcake.

"My mommy!" (Abbie wasn't too happy about Lorinda holding Ashley's little brother Nick.)

Abbie, Ashley, and Lucas pause for a picture at a play date at Ashley's.

Abbie takes Ashley's baby for a stroll.

We expect he'll resent us in the future for publishing this.

Ben, Ashley, and Lucas enjoy the cupcakes as Mike (Ben's dad), Lorinda and Abbie look on.

Score!

Looks like she got her fashion sense from her Daddy!
Is there a boy hiding in that ball pit?

Ashley and Lucas have a great time in the ball pit at the Maple Grove Community Center.

Abbie checks out the full-size shape sorter at the community center.

Vroom vroom!

We don't think state troopers ride their motorcycles quite this way!

Abbie inherited her Mother's love of tomatoes!

Sleepy kid.

Lucas and Emilia Ann ride the police chopper at the MG Community Center.

We couldn't find this listed under symptoms of common childhood illnesses...

Wonder how Lucas got purple paint on his nose?

Grandma and Lucas get set to join the convoy at Camp Snoopy.

Lego fun!

Which car is fastest?

Dad and Lucas get ready to drive the bus at Camp Snoopy.

This was Lucas' favorite ride at Camp Snoopy. He rode it at least 7 times!

Time for bumper cars.

Dad tries to keep from getting sticky while the kids enjoy their suckers.

Abbie gets ready for a quick flight in the Cessna 172, with her blankie, Lucas' hat, and a couple airplane toys along for comfort.

Natasha came along to play one time when her mom (Casey) came to baby-sit. Looks like Lucas doesn't mind!

Lucas earns his "Handcar Operator License" at the Jackson Street Roundhouse, part of the Minnesota Transportation Museum.

The roundhouse has pint-sized tracks for the younger set.

Souvenirs from the day included an engineer's hat and Annie and Clarabel passenger cars for his train set at home.

Lucas enjoys a trip to the Minnesota Zoo on a "Mommy & Lucas" day.

The tiger drowsing in the sunshine proved fascinating for Lucas.

Abbie gets set to head down the slide at one of our local playgrounds.

We didn't mind that Lucas wanted to leave his bicycle helmet on as he climbed the ladders.

Wheeeeeeeee!

Abbie concentrates on her stair technique.

Lucas and Abbie check out the blue tubes at the Basswood Elementary School playground, which is where they will go to school soon.

Lucas spends just as much time climbing up the slides as he does sliding down them.

Brrrrmmmmm!

Abbie conks out in her new big girl bed.

Lucas and Tabitha soak up a some rays.

Giddy Up horsey!

Lucas hoards the ketchup while we wait for our lunch to cook.

"I like ketchup because it is red."

Lucas writes a note to Mommy.

Lucas and Cole run with their planes in the backyard of KinderCare during an evening picnic event.

Abbie enjoyed stepping in and out of this patch of dirt.

Lucas looks down from the top of the Maple Maze ...

... then he emerges from the slide.
